FAQ

Everything you need to know about our FreezeGard product. Still need a little help? Let us know and we'd be glad to help.
What is FreezeGard?
FreezeGard Blankets are an easy-to-use and effective insulation solution that prevent freeze-ups on pipes, pump, water tanks, valves, and other equipment. It is made of silicone cloth that is water-proof, UV-protected, and durable enough to withstand an extended temperature range.

FreezeGard can be used with heat trace wire to provide a heated, insulated blanket that ensures optimum heat transfer and excellent heat distribution. It is available in different voltages: 12V, 24V, 120V, and 240V, depending on your intended use.
How does FreezeGard work?
Using the FreezeGard heat trace blanket is easy and straightforward. You can use it as an effective insulator in different applications, including tugs, pipes, barges, vessels, tanks, and fluid lines. In the case of pipes, you can use it as a pipe insulation wrap, where you wrap it spirally around the pipe.

When fully wrapped, the heat trace wire warms the area of the pipe while the blanket ensures the heat is retained for a long time and freezing does not happen. This, in turn, prevents downtime and repair costs from possible damages due to freezing.
Where can I use FreezeGard?
Our FreezeGard blankets are insulated and can be used in a variety of applications, like tugs, barges, pipes, valves, actuators, fluid lines, or tanks.
Why use FreezeGard?
Choosing FreezeGard blankets as your heat trace blanket has several advantages. Here are a few:
  • You can maintain a constant temperature for your system elements and components. This prevents the escape of heat.
  • You can avoid freeze-ups and reduce maintenance interventions and repairs caused by line obstruction.
  • You can protect your equipment and its parts against cracks and bursts caused by freezing. You also avoid expensive repairs and clean-up resulting from these bursts.
  • You can easily install and uninstall the heat trace blankets without using any special tools. It only takes minutes in most cases, so you can quickly remove them when your equipment needs maintenance.
  • You can also reinstall the blankets when done with maintenance and continue usage.
